The story takes place in unnamed timeline, where humanity has highly advanced technology. However, the human population is decreasing and it seems that they're on their way to extinction. The protagonists are Leos Alloy, Sthesia Awar and their Haro. They work on a Jupiter base called "Jupiter X", using "General Answer" (or "GA") which contains a massive repository of data about the alternate history of Humanity, Leos travels to the Earths' of the alternate timelines in an effort to collect data that might give them a hint for the evolution of mankind.
Eight years prior to the story, explosions caused by scientists at the foot of Mt. Asama which caused a meltdown of Getter Ray energy that spread throughout all of Japan. People throughout the world began to experience some extreme mutations from the irradiation of Getter Energy that caused them to fuse with machinery and organic material and were dubbed the Idea. To combat them the Getter Robo is created by the organization GETTER and three pilots: Ryo, Hayato, and Musashi are recruited to pilot it and battle the Idea.
Johnny Ridden survived through the fierce battle of A Baoa Qu although his MS-14B Gelgoog High Mobility Type was badly damaged by the FA-78-1 Gundam Full Armor Type's overwhelming firepower. Ensign Reccoa Londe has provided the AEUG with information regarding possible mobile suit development at the civilian colonies of Green Noa. Lieutenant Quattro (Char Aznable) with his wingmen Lieutenant JGs Apolly (Andy) and Roberto (Ricardo) head to the colony to investigate. On Green Noa 1, Kamille Bidan is rushing to the spaceport where the Temptation, a ship a former One Year War ace is on, is docking. He's hoping to get an autograph from the famed Captain Bright Noa. As Bright explains that he's on duty, Jerid and company interrupt the two. Jerid smacktalks Bright for receiving a two rank demotion upon refusing to join the Titans and grabs Kamille's photo saying he should sign it as an elite member of the Federation. The two get into a scuffle and Kamille is hauled off for questioning. Matosh questions Kamille about being an AEUG insider but just then he's freed after his story checks out. This is a science fiction story depicting a battle between the "rocket-man" Ambassador Magma created by "Earth" (the creator of the earth), and evil spaceman Goa. Newspaper writer Murakami Atsushi and his family wake up one morning to find they have travelled 200 million years back in time. Looking out their window they see dinosaurs were walking around outside their house. This is, in fact, the work of a spaceman named Goa, who sent them back into the past in a show of his power. Proclaiming that he would take over the earth, Goa dares Murakami to report his plans in the paper. Coming back to the present, Mamoru, son of Murakami, is taken by a giant named Magma to the underground of a volcano island, where he meets the creator of the earth (called "Earth"). To squash Goa's ambitions, 'Earth' creates three "rocket-men" named Magma, Mol and Gum. Magma gives Mamoru a whistle he can use to call him and the other rocket-men whenever he is in trouble, and they fight together against Goa. Space fought back for principal, believing the effect of living in Space heightened every human ability and eventually created the prized power of a Newtype, who was not something to use as a tool for war. But in the end, mankind was its own downfall. During the final battle, the Space Revolution Army (SRA) crashed numerous colonies into the planet Earth, with a devastating effect.
